Hi, I'm Sachin. I build small, free web things, and DigitalBouquet is one of them. It is made in India, in time that would otherwise be spare, for anyone who wants to say something and would rather say it with flowers.

Why flowers, and why meanings

Sending someone flowers is one of the oldest ways of saying a thing that is hard to say out loud, and every flower already carries a meaning that predates all of us. Purple hyacinths have meant an apology for two thousand years. Pink carnations have meant a mother's love since 1907. Most flower sites treat that as decoration. Here it decides which flowers you get, which is the entire point.

Everything is drawn, not photographed

There is not a single flower photograph on this site. All 19 flowers are drawn as code, petal by petal, which is why they can be recoloured into 56 variants, arranged differently for every bouquet, and still load almost instantly on a phone on a slow connection. It took a lot longer than buying stock images would have.

Why it's free

Because charging for it would ruin it. The moment there is a paywall between someone and telling a person they matter, the thing stops being worth making. It is cheap to run, I am not trying to turn it into a business, and there are no ads on the page your bouquet arrives at. Your note is stored because the page is built from it, and nothing else is ever done with it. You can delete any bouquet you send, permanently, at any time.
